Seria impossível imaginar que o maior painel solar do mundo fosse construído numa fábrica de automóveis há alguns anos atrás. Você provavelmente confundiria no máximo com o maior teto solar do mundo mas a GM promete surpreender a todos em setembro na filial em Zaragoza (Espanha).
A few years ago, if you were to say that the largest rooftop solar panel was going to be installed in a car manufacturing plant we’d probably say that you were, well, bonkers. If you had mentioned that not only would this be true, but that it would be installed in the roof of a General Motors plant, we’d have gladly tried to sell you a bridge. Surprisingly though you’d have been correct. Last week General Motors announced that its Zaragoza plant in Spain will be fitted with the world’s largest rooftop solar power station.
A General Motors nos EUA já possuem hoje, duas das maiores usinas de energia solar do país. Mas essas ainda são pequenas perto dos 85.000 painéis solares no teto da fábrica na Espanha que vão gerar mais de 10 megawatts (equivalente a energia para 4.600 casas). Essa energia toda será administrada pelas empresas: Veolia Environment e Clairvoyant Energy.
